What is a Luberon mas?

A Luberon mas is a Provençal country house, typically built of stone and located in the Luberon region of south-eastern France.

The Luberon massif is a low mountain range stretching from east to west between the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Vaucluse, 70km north of Marseille. Its Mediterranean climate brings hot summers and mild winters. The region is known for its remarkable ecological diversity, home to a rich variety of flora and fauna preserved by its temperate climate: it alternates valleys and hollows with plains, plateaus, vineyards and forests.
