One of the symbols of the city, its iconic « Castle » facing the sea. It was built in 1881 by an apothecary and herbalist who set sail for the Island of Port-Cros in order to find medicinal plants.

By the sea, Le Lavandou has 12 fine sandy beaches, but also wild coves, facing the Iles du Levant and Port-Cros, accessible by private boats or shuttles. Also called « La Cité des Dauphins », it is a true paradise for divers because of the quality of its water and its seabed, notably awarded by several labels: Blue Flag, Pélagos and Oualimer.

This marine sanctuary can be visited on boat trips, or along the coast on the coastal path.

This magnificent decor has inspired many artists. The “Chemin des Peintres”, located in the Saint-Clair district, allows you to discover the works of neo-impressionist painters who stayed at Le Lavandou: Paul Signac, Maximilien Luce and Edmond Cross for example.
