BARNES Provence is proud to present this exceptional château, whose origins date back to the 11th century. Built around its impressive medieval keep, the property has been expanded over the centuries with elegant additions from the 17th and 18th centuries.
The meticulous restoration carried out in recent years has been undertaken with the utmost respect for the château’s history and architectural heritage. Every intervention has been entrusted to highly skilled craftsmen and renowned specialists, including a distinguished Italian decorative artist who faithfully restored the period-painted ceilings and historic frescoes.
Offering approximately 1,729 sq.m (18,611 sq.ft) of living space (2,050 sq.m / 22,066 sq.ft total floor area), the château provides remarkable accommodation capacity with approximately 19 bedrooms. Its hospitality business is centred around 18 luxury suites, including 8 suites operated as part of a five-star hotel, complemented by a Michelin-starred restaurant, a fully equipped professional kitchen, and premium hospitality facilities. The Michelin star remains attached to the establishment until 2028.
Every aspect of the restoration—including decorative paintings, frescoes, period flooring and heritage architectural features—has been carried out with an unwavering commitment to preserving the authenticity and historical character of the estate.
The château is set within approximately 2 hectares (5 acres) of beautifully landscaped parkland, part of which was designed by the renowned landscape architect Bélanger. Nearly 2,000 trees were planted throughout the grounds in 2019. The estate also features a swimming pool, a meadow enhanced by a rose garden, a kitchen garden, and several peaceful relaxation areas.
Two additional wings remain to be completed. All technical infrastructure, including electrical systems and drainage, has already been installed, allowing for a variety of future developments such as additional guest suites, a wellness spa, fitness centre, private cinema, or any other amenities suited to the property’s future use.
A comprehensive renovation programme has been undertaken between 2019 and the present day, including the complete replacement of the roof and the structural reinforcement of the southern façade. Modern technical installations ensure optimum comfort throughout the château, including concealed ducted air conditioning, a heat pump system, mains water supply, mains drainage, a private borehole, and an automatic irrigation system.
The château fully complies with accessibility regulations for guests with reduced mobility (PMR), and is equipped with a lift as well as all required fire safety systems.
Today, the former hotel operation has evolved into a luxury short-term rental business.
